On June 1, voting will take place in nine seats across the state during the seventh phase of the Lok Sabha elections, including Kolkata. Voting will be conducted at 1,869 booths in seven assembly constituencies connected to North Central Kolkata. Five of these constituencies—Chowrangi, Entali, Belgachia, Shyampukur, and Jorasanko—have set up DCRC centers at Netaji Indoor Stadium, where necessary arrangements have been made to distribute voting equipment.
Similarly, EVMs and VVPATs for three assembly constituencies of Barasat Lok Sabha constituency are being dispatched from Bidhannagar College.On the eve of the elections, polling personnel were busy checking and understanding the EVMs and VVPATs early in the morning before heading to their respective booths.
